Assignment 3 Progress!

Hi there, as title would explain, I would like to show a little progress on my 3rd assignment.

DESCRIPTION
Well, I've always liked websites that are organized and user friendly. Every single detail, whether words or pictures should be something that is easy on the eyes of the reader.

OBJECTIVE
My part for this assignment would be to explain a little bit of the facilities available in this national park. For this, since the park does not really have many facilities, I would break it down into 2 parts, which is In-park facilities and Off-park facilities. What I would like to allow people to see is basically what they can expect to use near and in this park.

GUI DESIGN

Well as you can see, on my left side would be some of the buttons that I will design that will be linked to related websites for example, small history of the place itself and the middle would be filled with pictures and texts that would really brighten and form interests in another person's eyes to see this place and also the right side would be some of the links that will navigate them away from my page.

The picture above shows the buttons I've created.

For my background, since it has been decided, we will use one of the rainforest picture that we have already planned and also most of the stuff inside would be using white, green and yellow to actually focus on nature in this place.

FLOWCHART

The picture above shows my flowchart on how I will be demonstrating or rather showing the facilities around Batang Ai National Park. The gallery will be filled with pictures using flash to show a pictures of the facilities that are available and the text will be some of the description of the facilities around

TOOLS USED
Basically, the tools that I will be using for this would be Photoshop, Flash and Dreamweaver. Photoshop will be used to edit some of the pictures and also used to design some of the buttons. Flash will be used to display several pictures in video mode. Dreamweaver will be used as a platform to create and design my website.

Flash for Assignment 2

Hi there! Welcome back. If you have read my previous post, you will see that I have placed a flash video onto my home page! Here's a few steps on how I did my flash! My flash video is pretty simple, what I did was just an aeroplane flying up and down and then crashing into a building. Pretty simple.

The picture above is the starting of my flash!

Well as you can see, what I did was using 1 layer to draw the aeroplane on the top left and I created another layer to draw the blue clouds around it. The aeroplane was drawn using the Brush Tool and the clouds were drawn using Oval Tool and blue colour to show the colour of the clouds.

The picture above shows my plane moving to it's next position.

Well firstly when you play the flash, the object you selected can move by right clicking on the timeline to any point in time and right click and inserting a keyframe. Inserting this keyframe will allow you to move the object to the next position which is to move from point A to point B but if you play it just like that you will not be able to see the object move gradually. What you need to do is to select the from your initial point of the timeline until your keyframe point and then right click and create a classic tween. Then it will move gradually.

The picture above shows my aeroplane moving within keyframes.

The picture above shows my aeroplane making a turn downwards.

Check it out my plane is upside down now. How I did this was just to select the point and right click and selecting free transform. With free transform, you can actually resize the object or turn the object like what I did for my aeroplane. Then again, almost all my points are using classic tweens so everything will move smoothly.

The picture above is showing my aeroplane moving downwards.

The picture above shows my plane is going to crash into my building

Well as you can see from here, my clouds are missing and there's a building that is here. Well it's pretty simple, create a new layer and then this layer should be after the layer containing your clouds. Also, create another layer for the aeroplane. Well same thing again, to whichever point, insert the keyframe and then create a classic tween. The next picture will show you how the ending of my flash looks like.

The picture above shows that my aeroplane has crashed into a building.

The picture above shows the ending of my flash.

Well that is not the exact fonts that I have used for my final product but rather just a draft. How I did was to use the Text Tool and then writing some text inside it and this is pretty much on how I did my flash.

Thank you so much for reading!

ASSIGNMENT 2~! COMPLETED - 100%

Hi there, as of my second assignment, I am supposed to create a website using Adobe Dreamweaver. Cool name! Basically this software allows you to create a webpage of your own. Pretty much like Microsoft FrontPage. Basically I created a webpage of my own!

The picture above shows you my home page!

Well as you can see in the picture above, my theme for this assignment is dark and bright colours, either black or grey or yellow and white! So basically, what I did was using a picture of me that was submitted to Marshall  Amplification for their contest, as you can see I support Marshall as their amps are top grade. Anyways, I placed a quote in the picture and used yellow for my fonts that welcomes you to my page. As you can see the backdrop is grey. I think it suits my page because of the mixture of black and white roughly becomes grey-ish. The bottom of the page shows several of my buttons. The following pictures are some of the pictures that I took to show a rough view of how my other pages look like!

The picture above shows my "About me" page.

The picture above shows my "Interests" page.

The picture above shows my "Future Plans" page.

The picture above shows my "Games I've Played" page.

The picture above shows my "Appreciation" page.

The picture above shows my "Contact me" page.

The picture above shows my "Links" page.

The picture above shows my "Gallery" page.

This assignment is really interesting as I believe that what I learnt from this subject would really really help me with some of the webpage designing work that I have been dreaming to do. Some of the problems I faced with this assignment will be attachment of the flash to dreamweaver, creating buttons and time management.

Thank you for reading!

Batang Ai National Park

Well, as you can see from the title above, this post and this blog will be dedicated to Batang Ai National Park. Reading through will allow you to understand and visualize how the park might look like.

Batang Ai National Park is a place where Orang Utans live as they are an endangered species in this planet. Other wildlife such as gibbons and hornbills also has a place called "home" in this park. This park is located in Sarawak. Batang Ai National Park is also a water catchment to Sarawak's only artificial lake. Batang Ai Hydo-Electricity Complex which is a part of this dam, also provides a certain amount of energy.

From Kuching, this park is about 250km away and because of this hot spot for tourist to visit, there is a longhouse and Hilton Longhouse Resort that provides accommodation for visitors after their trip.

Batang Ai Resort

Batang Ai Artificial Dam

The community around this area is the Ibans. Ibans usually stay in a longhouse. In this longhouse, they have a chief that takes care of everyone's safety and also makes decisions in certain dilemmas. As you can see, the longhouse resorts that are owned by Hilton are actually copied from how the Ibans live as a community.

Also, around this area, water is their main transport. Clear, fast and refreshing are the words that describes the rivers. An hour of upstream boat ride, the visitors can actually see the forests of Batang Ai. The forest in Batang Ai are so beautiful with drooping trees that hang across the rivers.

Batang Ai River

As you can see, because of the wide surface area of the water, you can actually do river rafting here!

With all the pictures and some description of Batang Ai National Park, this ends post about Batang Ai National Park. Thanks for reading!

E wallpaper step by step tutorial

Hi there, i am going to post up my step by step documentation of the E wallpaper proposed by my lecturer as my assignment. The theme for this E wallpaper, is the FOM open day. Here goes,

Step 1
Grab a few photos that you would like edit or fool around. Open your Adobe Photoshop. Then select FILE and press New. Make sure that your measurements are in terms of mm(millimeters) and the measurements for A4 size is 297 x 210. Then you're ready to do this!!

Step 2
Then as you can see, place your photo and resize the photo to your preference. As you can see, i have made my photo by the side of the white background. Once you've moved and resized your photo to your specific preference, you then right click on the picture and press place. The photo i have used is the photo of the Faculty of Management offices.
Step 3
As you can see, I have inserted another photo into this poster. Same process as step 2, you resize and move it to wherever you like and then, right click on the photo and press place. The photo i have used, is the MMU logo.
Step 4
As you can see, I have added a few words into my photo. How do you do that?! On the left side bar, you'l see an icon that has the alphabet T. It is known as the Horizontal Type Tool. With that selected, select and drag the amount of space you want to write whatever you're writing. For example, look at my picture, as you can see, I have wrote "Faculty of Management Open Day" with a specific size and specific type of fonts.
Step 5
I have placed another picture inside. That picture is the mascot for MMU. What do you think of the mascot? I think he's cute.
Step 6
Lastly, as you can see, I have played around with the color of the photo? HOW DID I DO THAT? On the bottom right, you will see an icon that is a circle, half black and half white, click on it. Then a menu will pop up and you can select any of it to adjust the colour of your picture. I have used the "Levels" settings and "Hue/Saturation" settings to get my end product.

That is my step by step tutorial to learn a little about photoshop. I hope that you have enjoyed it, and I hope you learnt something from it. I think that it is great that we live in a world where photoshop is available for us to use as university students and working class citizens of Malaysia. I would like to thank you if you have read all the way down here. :)
